Hydraulic Aircraft Wheel Assembly Puller

Overview

The AKAM Hydraulic Aircraft Wheel Assembly Puller is designed for specialized wheel-assembly operations in aircraft wheel-and-brake workshops. During use, a central rod or shaft passes through the wheel hub and two clamping discs are positioned on opposite sides of the wheel assembly. When the foot-operated hydraulic pump is actuated, the cylinder pulls the shaft in a controlled manner, drawing the two wheel rim halves together and holding them in the correct position for installing and tightening the connecting bolts and nuts. The clamping discs incorporate adjustable pads or contact plates so they can be positioned to suit different hub diameters. This allows the tool to accommodate a range of aircraft wheel assemblies while applying compression in a controlled and centered manner. The clamping pressure is approximately 5,800 PSI / 400 bar. Cylinder stroke is 5 in / approximately 12.7 cm, and the hydraulic hose is approximately 3 m long. These specifications provide suitable working reach and the force required for aircraft wheel assembly operations. This equipment is a maintenance tool and is not an operational component of the aircraft wheel. Its primary use is in wheel-and-brake shops, MRO facilities, and maintenance organizations for safer and more controlled assembly of aircraft wheel rim halves.
